Martin Kpebu: The OSP Has Become a Crime Scene Under Agyebeng's Leadership

Lawyer Martin Kpebu has renewed his harsh criticism of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), claiming that the institution has lost its integrity under its current leadership.

Speaking on *Kwaku Sintim-Misa's* show, Kpebu described the OSP as “a crime scene,” citing numerous allegations surrounding the office's leadership that demand immediate attention and scrutiny. He emphasized that the office’s reputation has been severely damaged because its head, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, is the "face of the organisation," and any unresolved allegations against him tarnish the entire institution.

Kpebu pointed to what he described as ongoing misconduct, including allegations that some OSP staff members work in Agyebeng's private home while still being paid by the office. “Ask whether there are two OSP employees working as house helps. These issues cannot be ignored,” he said.

Kpebu also announced that he plans to file a petition against Agyebeng, adding, “I’m preparing my petition. Others have filed sixteen; mine will be the seventeenth.” He said the petition would focus on statutory grounds, including misbehaviour, incompetence, and conduct that brings the OSP into disrepute.

The lawyer also criticized Agyebeng's public statements, particularly those concerning state security agencies. He noted that the Special Prosecutor’s remarks about the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) had significantly damaged public trust in the agency. "Even if everything else is forgiven, making false claims about the NIB is enough grounds for action,” Kpebu stressed.

He further argued that the controversy could have been mitigated if Agyebeng had shown humility and apologized. "Instead, he dug in his heels, which only intensified the issue," Kpebu added.
