Police Arrest Driver Involved in Anthony Joshua Accident that Killed Two Friends


 

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the driver involved in the tragic accident with Anthony Joshua, which claimed the lives of two of his friends.


According to Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the driver of the Lexus SUV, which collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, is now in custody. However, Babaseyi declined to reveal the identity of the driver.


The accident, which occurred recently, left Anthony Joshua hospitalized and tragically took the lives of his friends, Lateef Ayodele and Cina Gami.


The Lagos and Ogun state governments have expressed condolences to the families of the victims and offered prayers for their souls, as well as strength to their loved ones during this difficult time.


Anthony Joshua was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday and has been cleared for recovery at home. Later, he and his mother paid a visit to a funeral home in Lagos to honor the deceased before their repatriation.


Both Governors Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State have expressed gratitude for the public's support and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the medical staff at Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi, for their professionalism.
