Veteran Kumawood actor Paa George has strongly dismissed viral social media rumours claiming that he has died, describing the reports as false and misleading. The respected Ghanaian actor responded after several blogs and social media platforms circulated the claims on March 3, 2026, triggering concern among fans and followers.
The rumours quickly gained traction online, with some users even sending condolence messages and “rest in peace” tributes to the veteran actor. However, the 88-year-old film legend promptly addressed the issue, assuring the public that he is alive and in good health.
In an initial reaction during a conversation with blogger DePrince TV on the same day the rumours surfaced, Paa George laughed off the claims. The actor appeared amused by the reports and questioned why people had already begun mourning him despite his continued presence.
“Have you not heard people saying I have passed away and sending me rest in peace messages?” he jokingly asked while laughing during the interview.
Despite the lighthearted initial response, the actor later delivered a stronger message to those responsible for spreading the false information. On Wednesday, March 4, Paa George released a longer video addressing the rumours and expressing his frustration with individuals circulating the claim that he had died.
Speaking firmly, he emphasized that he is still alive and expects to live for several more years. According to the Kumawood legend, he believes he has a spiritual covenant with God that guarantees he will live until the age of 96.
“It is me, Paa George, that people keep claiming is dead. I am not dead,” he said in the video. “I have a covenant with God that I will live until I am 96 years old.”

The actor explained that he will celebrate his 89th birthday on May 1, meaning he still has several years ahead of him. Based on his belief in this divine promise, Paa George insisted that no one can alter what God has ordained for his life.
He also issued a warning to those spreading the rumours, stating that individuals who wish death upon him would face consequences before his time eventually comes.
The veteran actor’s response sparked reactions from fans on social media, many of whom expressed relief that he is alive and well. Several admirers praised his strength and wished him long life and continued good health.
