Ghanaian champions Bibiani GoldStars have been drawn against Algerian giants JS Kabylie in the first preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.
This marks a historic moment for GoldStars, who will be making their debut appearance in Africa’s premier club competition. The team will play the first leg at home between September 19 and 21, before traveling to Algeria for the return fixture, scheduled between September 26 and 28.
If they advance, Bibiani GoldStars will meet the winner of the tie between Sierra Leone’s East End Lions and Tunisia’s US Monastir in the second preliminary round. Those matches will be played from October 17 to 19 (first leg) and October 24 to 26 (second leg), with the aggregate winner progressing to the CAF Champions League group stage.
In preparation for the new season, the GoldStars squad is currently training in Accra, where they are engaged in a series of pre-season friendlies. Their next competitive match will be in the GHALCA Top Four tournament, set for August 20 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The tournament also features top local clubs including Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and Heart of Lions.
