Manhyia Palace Suspends Funerals Across Asanteman in Honor of Late Asantehemaa

The Manhyia Palace has officially announced the suspension of all funeral ceremonies across the Asanteman Kingdom on **Thursday, August 21, 2025**.

This directive follows the passing of **Her Royal Highness Nana Konadu Yiadom III**, the late Asantehemaa, and is in preparation for her **One Week Celebration**.

In a statement dated **August 12**, signed by **Ambassador Nana Effah-Apenteng**, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Palace, it was confirmed that the Asantehemaa died peacefully on **August 7, 2025**.

The commemoration event is scheduled to take place at **Bogyawe**, within the Manhyia Palace grounds, from **12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.** on the designated day.

The **Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II**, along with the **Asanteman Council**, will lead the solemn observance. In light of this, all funeral-related activities within the kingdom are to be deferred for the day, in recognition of the Asantehemaa’s legacy and to maintain the dignity of the occasion.

The Palace respectfully urges the public to comply with this directive and join in mourning the loss of a revered figure who served the Asanteman with grace and honor.

Further details regarding the final funeral rites will be communicated in due course.
