Former Ghana international, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has been officially appointed as the head coach of Eleven Wonders FC. He is expected to lead his first training session with the team today, Saturday, as preparations intensify ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
This appointment marks another significant step in Lamptey’s coaching career, following previous stints with Elmina Sharks and other roles within the Ghanaian football system.
Eleven Wonders will compete in the upcoming Premier League season despite the relegation of Legon Cities FC, whose owner, Richard Atippoe, has acquired the Premier League slot of the Techiman-based club. The team will retain the Eleven Wonders name but will now be based in Accra.
Lamptey's immediate challenge will be to rebuild and mold a competitive squad capable of surpassing last season’s underwhelming performance under the Legon Cities identity. With his experience as a former player at clubs like Aston Villa and Anderlecht, Lamptey is eager to instill his football philosophy and tactical approach as he begins this new chapter.
Training sessions begin today, as the club gears up for a fresh start under new management and coaching leadership.
