Tacha Sparks Debate with Advice to Women: “Date More Than One Man”

Former Big Brother Naija star and media personality, Natasha Akide—popularly known as Tacha—has ignited a social media frenzy following her controversial relationship advice during an appearance on the Outside the Box podcast.

Speaking candidly, Tacha encouraged young women to avoid exclusivity while dating, suggesting that they maintain multiple romantic options to protect their emotional well-being.

“I tell girls, don’t be out there dating just one man. And I’m still saying it outrightly: you need three other boyfriends in your life,” she stated.

Tacha was quick to clarify that she was not advocating for promiscuity. Instead, her message was about maintaining emotional balance and not investing too heavily in one partner, especially in a dating landscape where trust is often uncertain.

“I am not saying sleep with all the boyfriends. But at least, let there be other people you're talking to. Because even that one person you're focused on—remember, they say the heart of man is wicked—you just never know,” she added.

Her remarks have received a polarizing response online. Supporters praised her for delivering what they described as a “realistic” perspective on modern dating, while critics accused her of promoting mistrust and undermining the values of loyalty and commitment.

Despite the backlash, Tacha remained firm in her position, emphasizing that women should prioritize self-worth and avoid becoming emotionally dependent on one individual too early in a relationship.

The conversation continues to stir intense discussion across various social platforms, highlighting evolving perspectives on dating, trust, and emotional self-protection in today’s relationships.
