President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Martin Kolbil Yamborigya as the Acting Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division (DTRD) of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), effective Monday, November 17, 2025.
Dr. Yamborigya assumes the role following the retirement of Mr. Edward Apenteng Gyambrah.
A seasoned tax administrator and public finance expert, Dr. Yamborigya brings more than two decades of experience in Ghana’s revenue administration. He has played a pivotal role in shaping domestic tax policy, strengthening compliance, and driving revenue mobilisation, contributing significantly to the GRA’s ongoing modernisation initiatives.
Before his latest appointment, Dr. Yamborigya held several senior management positions, including Audit Team Leader for the Tax Audit Unit, Head of Audit at the Legon Medium Taxpayer Office, Head of Post Clearance Audit (DTRD), and Head of Audit for Special Audits (Audit Factory). He also served as Acting Assistant Commissioner at the Commissioner DTRD’s Secretariat.
He later advanced to the role of Assistant Commissioner and Head of Tax Audit at the Large Taxpayer Office (LTO), where he spearheaded efforts to improve tax compliance, expand the tax base, and modernise domestic tax operations.
Dr. Yamborigya’s appointment is expected to strengthen ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing tax compliance, accelerating digitalisation, and deepening collaboration with key stakeholders to boost domestic revenue mobilisation.
Management and staff of the GRA have extended their congratulations to Dr. Yamborigya and wished him success in his new role as Acting Commissioner of the DTRD.
