The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with National Security operatives, has arrested 32 Nigerian nationals in Tuba, Kasoa, for their alleged involvement in cybercrime activities.
The operation took place early on the morning of Saturday, December 13, 2025, and the suspects are accused of running a romance scam syndicate and operating a cybercrime hub. During the raid, the security team seized 31 laptops and 15 mobile phones, believed to be the tools used for their illegal activities. The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, while the seized devices are undergoing forensic analysis to support the ongoing probe.
This operation is part of a broader initiative by the CSA to disrupt cybercrime networks and safeguard Ghana's digital ecosystem. The CSA has been ramping up efforts to address the growing threat of cybercrime across the country.
**Sam George's Support for Cybercrime Crackdown**
In response to the arrests, the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, praised the Cyber Security Authority for its swift action. In a statement shared on Facebook, George expressed his support for the ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime in Ghana.
"This dawn, another massive blow has been struck against cybercrime in Ghana," he said, commending the joint operation between CSA and National Security. "We will continue to support the Authority in making Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercriminals," George added, emphasizing the government's commitment to eradicating online fraud and promoting a secure digital space in the country.
The CSA's efforts to curb cybercrime have garnered widespread support, with various government officials and institutions reiterating their dedication to disrupting illegal networks and protecting citizens from fraud.
The arrests come amid growing concerns over the rise of cybercrime and romance scams, which often target vulnerable individuals through fake online relationships.
