Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) has declared that she is fully prepared to present her sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, in court.
According to Natasha, the ₦200 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Akpabio has provided her with the formal platform to present evidence that the Senate Ethics and Privileges Committee previously denied her. She emphasized that the court proceedings now offer the opportunity she has long awaited to substantiate her claims.
In a statement, the Kogi Central lawmaker asserted that she will demonstrate that she was sexually harassed and that her refusal to comply with the alleged advances triggered sustained political attacks on her career and reputation.
“See you in court, Godswill Akpabio,” she said.
The Senate President had earlier filed a ₦200 billion lawsuit against Senator Natasha, accusing her of making public statements that allegedly portrayed him as a sexual predator. Court documents filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory reveal that Akpabio is seeking substantial damages, public retractions, and nationwide broadcast apologies. The lawsuit claims that Natasha’s interviews across radio, television, and digital platforms defamed him and subjected him to public ridicule.
The legal confrontation, now set to unfold in court, will allow both parties to defend their positions before the law and the Nigerian public.
