Gomoa Central MP, A Plus, has commended the current administration for successfully stabilizing the cedi during the Christmas season, marking a significant change from previous years. In a post shared on his social media, A Plus reflected on the historical challenges faced by Ghana's national currency during the festive period.
“For many years, the Christmas season has brought with it anxiety, uncertainty, and fears that our currency would collapse. This time, however, the script has been flipped. For the first time in many years, the cedi gained strength during Christmas, and that is no accident,” A Plus remarked.
He attributed this positive change to the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and his team. “What you’re hearing now is just noise, deliberately meant to distract from this simple fact. Yes, distractions can be irritating and can divide attention, but they can never change the truth: under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and with strong support from Dr. Ato Forson, Dr. Asiamah, and Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, the cedi strengthened at a time when many predicted its collapse,” A Plus concluded.
This shift in the economy during the festive season has sparked widespread conversation, as many Ghanaians acknowledge the change in the national currency’s performance.
