Former NFL offensive lineman Matt Kalil has initiated legal proceedings against his ex-wife, Haley Baylee, following public remarks she made about their marriage that he claims violated his privacy and caused significant personal distress.
Kalil, 36, who played for teams including the Minnesota Vikings, was married to Baylee—an influencer and model—for seven years before their divorce in 2022. Since retiring from professional football, Kalil has largely stayed out of the public eye. However, he alleges that comments made by Baylee during a podcast appearance in November 2025 have thrust him back into unwanted media attention.
During the interview, Baylee reportedly discussed intimate aspects of their relationship and suggested that physical incompatibility, including remarks about Kalil’s manhood, played a role in the breakdown of their marriage. These statements were widely circulated online and, according to Kalil, included exaggerated and deeply personal claims that should never have been shared publicly.
Court documents cited by media outlets such as TMZ and The Sun indicate that Kalil is suing for invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment. He contends that the remarks were intrusive, degrading, and humiliating, and that they have affected not only him but also members of his family, who have been exposed to repeated online discussions and commentary about the claims.
Kalil further alleges that the situation has impacted his current wife, model Kailani Asmus, whom he married in 2024. According to the lawsuit, Asmus has received numerous online messages referencing the podcast comments, some of which Kalil describes as distressing. Screenshots of these messages have reportedly been submitted as evidence, with Kalil claiming the harassment has intensified over time.
In addition, Kalil asserts that Baylee financially benefited from the renewed public attention following the podcast, citing an increase in online traffic and engagement linked to her appearance. He is seeking damages that could exceed $75,000 and has requested a jury trial.
Baylee has since responded briefly to the lawsuit, telling TMZ that she is saddened by the situation and finds legal disputes emotionally exhausting. She expressed regret that the matter has escalated to court and that both families have been drawn into the controversy.
As the case moves forward, it is expected to attract continued public and media attention.
