Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has revealed why she no longer advises people to audition for the popular reality television show.
Speaking candidly, Phyna acknowledged that while BBNaija can offer instant fame and visibility, the popularity contestants enjoy during the show often fades shortly after they leave the house. According to her, the excitement and “steeze” associated with housemates while the show is on air rarely translates into long-term relevance outside the BBNaija spotlight.
She explained that the fan base largely remains the same from season to season, simply shifting support from one set of housemates to another, with little room for sustained growth or new opportunities. As a result, many ex-housemates struggle to maintain the level of attention they once enjoyed.
Phyna also expressed concern about what she described as a decline in the show’s credibility over the years. She noted that being an ex-BBNaija housemate no longer commands the same respect or recognition it once did, adding that the title does not carry the same weight in today’s entertainment industry.
Beyond public perception, Phyna emphasized that many people misunderstand life after the show. Contrary to popular belief, leaving the BBNaija house does not automatically guarantee wealth, stability, or long-term success. She revealed that several former housemates face significant challenges behind the scenes, despite the glamorous image often portrayed on social media.
Her remarks have reignited discussions about the realities of reality TV stardom, serving as a caution to aspiring contestants to fully understand the pressures, expectations, and uncertainties that come with participating in such shows.
