Ebo Noah was arrested on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, by the Ghana Police Service after months of widespread panic stirred by his prophecy of a devastating flood set to occur on December 25, 2025. The arrest followed weeks of heightened anxiety and media attention.
The 30-year-old first gained national attention in August 2025, claiming that he had received a divine instruction to construct 10 modern-day arks to save humanity from a predicted global flood, set to begin on Christmas Day. His videos, posted on TikTok and YouTube, showed him dressed in sackcloth and overseeing the construction of wooden vessels, which he claimed were the only safe haven for those who believed in his prophecy.
As he continued to promote his message, authorities raised alarms about the widespread fear his claims were causing. Reports suggested that hundreds of followers, some from neighboring countries, abandoned their homes and traveled to his ark site, bringing luggage in anticipation of the flood.
When December 25 passed without any rain or flooding, Ebo Noah released a video claiming that his prayers and a three-week fast had convinced God to postpone the disaster. The situation intensified when he appeared at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 concert on December 25, still dressed in his signature sackcloth. There, he told the audience to celebrate, claiming the predicted doom had been delayed.
