Ex-Boyfriend Takes Back Gifts After Rejected Marriage Proposal: A Woman Shares Her Story

A woman, identified as Nkemdilim Love, recently shared a startling experience on Facebook, recounting how her ex-boyfriend took back everything he had ever bought for her after she turned down his marriage proposal. According to Nkemdilim, she and her ex had been in a relationship for some time, during which he proposed to marry her. However, she declined his offer, and as a result, he returned to collect the gifts he had given her throughout their relationship.

In her post, Nkemdilim revealed that the total value of the items her ex-boyfriend had purchased for her was nearly 3 million Naira. While she mentioned that the situation didn’t deeply hurt her, she admitted that she felt used by his actions.

She wrote, "So my Nsukka ex-boyfriend came and carried all the things he bought for me because I didn’t marry him. I refunded him with 2.1 million Naira worth of property. I'm not pained, but I just feel used."

Additionally, she clarified that not only did she return the gifts, but she also bought new items for him and refunded some money as well. "I gave him everything back yesterday. I can’t believe it myself, lol. I bought new property for him and refunded him some money as well," she added.

In another post, Nkemdilim shared details of her past support for her ex-boyfriend, saying, "To some of you asking me what I offered my Nsukka ex, when his Yahoo (fraud) business had not started paying, I fed and clothed him. I paid his rent for a good 9 years, from university days, and I spent 1.8 million Naira on his hospital bills when he was diagnosed with mental illness."

Nkemdilim's posts highlight the complexities of her relationship, revealing the emotional toll of both financial and emotional support given over the years, only to face rejection and a harsh response when her refusal to marry him led to the return of his gifts.
