Phindilesleper, a South African female soldier recently dismissed from the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), has publicly apologized following backlash over a viral TikTok video.
In a live session on TikTok, Phindilesleper expressed remorse for her actions, acknowledging that her behavior brought embarrassment to both the SANDF and her family.
"I sincerely apologize to the military, my family, and everyone I’ve let down. What I did was unprofessional and inexcusable," she stated during the live broadcast.
The apology follows the circulation of a controversial video in which she appeared partially undressed while in military uniform, exposing her undergarments. The footage was widely criticized as inappropriate for a member of active military service.
The SANDF responded swiftly by terminating her service and issuing a statement condemning her actions. The military emphasized that her behavior was inconsistent with the values and discipline expected of SANDF personnel.
