Kumawood Actor Oboy Siki Sparks Controversy with Admission About Motives for Entering Film Industry

Veteran Kumawood actor Oboy Siki has made startling revelations about his motivations for entering the film industry, admitting that his primary reason for pursuing acting was to gain access to women.

In a recent interview, Oboy Siki openly disclosed that he chose acting as a means to facilitate sexual relationships with young women—something he claims he would not have had access to if he had chosen a different career path.

"I got into acting and I got exactly what I wanted out of it," he stated. "Even after we wrap up filming, I continue. Musicians do it too. The reason I went into acting was because of women. I'm satisfied with my lifestyle."

The actor, who previously claimed he would die in 2024, went on to make further controversial remarks about female colleagues in the industry, describing many of them as "too old" for his preferences.

“I don’t want the well-known actresses. They are old women. Nana Ama McBrown is an old woman. Emelia Brobbey is an old woman. Even Vivian Jill, whom I once considered marrying, turned out to be too old after I looked into it,” he said.

Oboy Siki also advised against young men joining the Ghanaian movie industry, warning that they risk being morally compromised by the behavior of senior figures like himself.

“I won’t encourage young people to enter the movie industry,” he said. “They will be influenced by our bad habits and start womanizing.”

These remarks have sparked public backlash, with many calling for greater accountability within the entertainment industry and questioning the culture that allows such views to be expressed without consequence.
