A significant fire incident occurred earlier today at Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS) located in the New Juaben North Municipality of Ghana’s Eastern Region. The blaze has caused extensive damage to portions of the House 3 boys’ dormitory block.
According to reports, the fire is believed to have originated from the master’s bungalow, which is situated within the same dormitory block. The fire quickly spread, engulfing the adjoining areas of the boys’ dormitory. The master’s bungalow has been completely destroyed, along with all its contents.
Firefighters from both the New Juaben North and South Municipal Fire Stations responded promptly and are currently working to bring the situation under control. A fire tender from the Eastern Regional Fire Command has also been deployed to assist with efforts to extinguish the flames and prevent further spread.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported as of the time of reporting. Emergency services remain on-site, and investigations into the exact cause of the fire have commenced.
