Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Mr. Awentami Paul Afoko, has expressed heartfelt sorrow over the tragic helicopter crash in Ghana’s Ashanti Region that resulted in the deaths of several senior government officials and military personnel.
In an official statement released on Friday, Mr. Afoko said,

Mr. Afoko shared his personal grief, noting his close ties with some of the victims.
“I knew Omane Boamah personally and regarded him as a friend. I was also close to Alhaji Murtala and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna — they were like brothers to me. The pilot, Peter Anala, who also lost his life, was my nephew.”
He extended his sincere condolences to the families affected, the government, and the nation as a whole.
“My deepest sympathies go out to President John Mahama, the government, and the grieving families of the eight Ghanaians who tragically died. I hold them all close to my heart.”

“I offer my heartfelt condolences to the Ghana Armed Forces for the loss of these brave officers who served our country with honour and dedication.”
Through his message, Mr. Afoko not only mourned the loss but also called for national unity, urging Ghanaians to come together in support of those affected by this devastating event.
