Fuel prices at retail pumps are set for minor changes beginning today, August 1, 2025, with petrol prices expected to rise slightly, while the cost of diesel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is projected to decrease.
This outlook is based on the latest pricing forecast released by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), which provides guidance to Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) nationwide in determining price adjustments.
According to the report, petrol prices are anticipated to increase by approximately 0.47%, bringing the average price to around GH¢2.80 per litre.
Conversely, diesel and LPG prices are expected to decline by up to 0.29% per litre.
Despite these projections, some OMCs may opt to maintain their current prices for certain products, based on individual operational costs and strategic considerations.
The mixed pricing outlook is largely attributed to the relative stability of global crude oil prices and the steady performance of the Ghanaian cedi. International crude oil prices declined marginally by 0.28%, settling at approximately US\$70.62 per barrel.
The report further indicates that while international petrol prices rose by 0.43%, diesel prices dropped by 1.22%, with LPG experiencing the most significant decline of 1.80%.
These global market trends, coupled with domestic currency stability, are expected to influence fuel price adjustments at local pumps in the coming days.
