Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has publicly addressed a surprise operation conducted at his residence earlier today by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO). The high-profile raid, reportedly led by EOCO Executive Director Raymond Archer, involved armed officers and has sparked significant public reaction.
In a series of social media posts, Shatta Wale voiced his displeasure over the nature of the operation, describing the use of armed personnel as excessive and unwarranted. He criticized EOCO for treating him as though he were a dangerous criminal, stating that the incident left him deeply hurt.
"What hurt me the most was seeing guns brought to my home, as if I’m a criminal. Raymond Archer, EOCO boss, it is you who will cause the NDC to lose power in the next four years. Bringing guns to my house was completely unnecessary!" he wrote.
Shatta Wale also took aim at the National Democratic Congress (NDC), implying that such actions could damage the party’s credibility ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a follow-up statement, the musician condemned EOCO’s handling of the situation, cautioning that such aggressive tactics risk eroding public trust in government institutions.
"The EOCO boss must remember that the President of Ghana did not appoint him to humiliate citizens. God is not asleep," he added.
The raid was reportedly conducted based on suspicions of fraud, although EOCO has yet to issue an official statement confirming the reason for the operation or providing details on its current status.
The incident has ignited widespread debate online, with many questioning the appropriateness of EOCO’s methods and expressing concern over the broader implications of such operations on civil liberties.
