ASEM ABA: Man Accused of Biting Off Wife’s Ear Granted Bail in Dambai

Dambai, September 10, 2025 – Emmanuel Addai, the main suspect in a domestic violence case involving the alleged biting off of his wife's ear, has been granted bail following his arrest.

According to police reports, the incident occurred in Banka, a community within the Dambai township, after Mr. Addai returned from a funeral in Wonkayaw. Upon his return, he is alleged to have attacked his wife, Madam Cecilia Fordjour, while she was preparing a meal for him.

Sources at the Ghana Police Service informed the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the suspect has been instructed to report to the police station on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to assist with ongoing investigations. Authorities also confirmed that Mr. Addai is expected to be arraigned before the Jasikan Circuit Court soon.

The assault, which took place on September 5, reportedly escalated into a physical altercation during which Mr. Addai allegedly bit off Madam Fordjour’s ear. Despite receiving medical treatment, doctors were unable to reattach the severed ear due to delays in reaching the hospital.

Police investigations are still underway.
