Davido Sparks Online Buzz with Cheeky Response to Fan Questioning His Social Media Silence

Nigerian music superstar Davido has stirred conversation online after responding humorously to a fan who questioned his noticeable absence from social media.

The award-winning singer, who tied the knot with longtime partner Chioma just a month ago in a lavish ceremony in Miami, has been relatively quiet online since the wedding. His silence didn’t go unnoticed by fans, prompting one user, identified as Abazz, to ask on X (formerly Twitter), “Why don’t you post like before?”

In response, the “Unavailable” hitmaker laughed off the question and replied, “You’ll understand when you get married too.”

The witty comeback quickly went viral, sparking a flurry of reactions from fans and followers. Many speculated that the singer’s married life may now be influencing his digital habits.

Some users jokingly suggested that Chioma might be controlling his phone or managing his social media activity. Others took a more serious tone, attributing Davido’s reduced online presence to his new responsibilities as a husband and family man.

“Married man things,” one user, AwobajoS, commented.

“Awwn… married man,” added another, Winifunds.

*Somto* quipped: “Abeg you fit dey online today? Everywhere just dry.”

While some fans expressed understanding, noting that marriage could indeed change one’s priorities, others argued that being a husband shouldn’t stop him from staying connected with fans.

Davido’s light-hearted response has reignited the age-old debate about balancing public life with personal privacy, especially for celebrities navigating marriage in the spotlight.

The post—and the reactions it triggered—have since kept social media buzzing, once again proving Davido's unmatched ability to stay relevant, even in silence.

In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity.
