A senior government official has tragically passed away under concerning circumstances in Karu-Jikwoyi, a suburb of Abuja. The deceased, identified as Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf, aged 47, was widely known as Buhun Barkonun (AMAC) and served as the FCT Chief Advocate on Community Development.
According to reliable reports, Mr. Yusuf checked into a local hotel on Tuesday, September 8, 2025, accompanied by a woman identified only as Ruth. Sources close to the situation allege that during his stay, the official consumed significant amounts of alcohol and performance-enhancing substances, while reportedly refusing to eat any food.
On the morning of the incident, Ruth, reportedly concerned about his deteriorating condition, purchased food for him. Shortly after eating, Mr. Yusuf reportedly collapsed and slipped into a coma.
Efforts made by both Ruth and the hotel staff to revive him and transport him to the hospital were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the medical facility.
The cause of death is currently under investigation, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of substance-related complications.
The incident has sparked public concern, especially considering Mr. Yusuf’s role in community development efforts in the Federal Capital Territory.
Further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
