In a viral video circulating on social media, the woman recounted the events that transpired during their dinner. The table was laden with various food items and drinks, including bottled water, in a well-known upscale restaurant. However, when the time came to pay, the man claimed that his phone network was not working, so he could not make the transfer.
The woman later covered the ₦40,000 bill, thinking it was a temporary inconvenience. Afterward, she handed him the receipt, expecting him to reimburse her. The man then asked for her bank details, claiming he would transfer the money back. She provided him with the information, and he sent a transfer via Opay. To her disbelief, the transfer amounted to only ₦5,000.
Confused, she questioned the discrepancy: "Why am I only seeing ₦5,000?" In response, the man explained that he had only covered the cost of his own meal, which amounted to ₦4,800, with an additional ₦200 for tip. He stated, "I only paid for my own meal, which was ₦4,800. I even added an extra ₦200. Check the list, I wasn’t supposed to pay more."
At first, the woman laughed off the situation, but the man’s next statement left her in shock. He confessed that he could not afford the ₦40,000 bill and had ordered only what he could pay for, while she had selected food worth ₦35,200.
The disagreement continued to escalate until the man suddenly stood up and walked out of the restaurant, leaving the woman to deal with the situation on her own.
