Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has responded to recent rumours of his death, assuring fans that he is alive, healthy, and doing well.
In a now-deleted video posted on his social media page, the Akpako Master dismissed the trending reports and expressed gratitude for life. He also addressed the ongoing discussions surrounding his earlier comments about his religious beliefs.
“The Devil Made Me Successful” — Terry G Reiterates
The controversial artist revisited an old clip from The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he stated that, as a secular musician, his music does not glorify God.
According to Terry G, people should not be surprised by his admission, as he believes that the devil played a role in his success.
“My phone has been buzzing since morning. People have been calling to check up on me because they saw something online about my death. I came to clear your conscience — please, whoever is spreading that news, stop it. I’m doing very fine,” he said in the viral video.
“Also, let me clarify something else that’s trending about me serving the devil. In the video with The Honest Bunch Podcast, I said, ‘I have fallen short of the glory of God. People like me will not get married. I’m not a gospel musician; I’m a secular musician. I sing for the devil. We praise the devil, not God — and that’s just the nature of my business.’”
Terry G went on to emphasize that he has never hidden his stance on the matter.
“So, you people didn’t know before? Don’t you know I’m serving the devil? He made me successful. I’ve cleared your conscience. Take it like that. God bless you — I’m still very sound and healthy,” he concluded.
