Kennedy Agyapong Urged to Keep Family Disputes Within Private Circles

Paul Yandoh, the Ashanti Regional Communication Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on Kennedy Ohene Agyapong to avoid dragging party leaders into his ongoing feud with former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo. Yandoh emphasized that the dispute between Agyapong and Adwoa Safo is a “family matter” that should be resolved internally, without disrupting the unity of the party.

In an interview with Angel FM Kumasi, Yandoh expressed concern over Agyapong’s apparent emotional distress, suggesting that unresolved issues from his past should not be projected onto the party or its leadership. He stated that any grievances Agyapong may have stemming from his past work with former President Nana Akufo-Addo should not affect younger members of the NPP who are still building their political careers. “We were not there when he worked for Akufo-Addo,” Yandoh pointed out. “The younger generation of the NPP should not bear the burden of grievances they had no part in creating.”

Yandoh also took issue with the way Agyapong has publicly addressed the situation, particularly his tendency to issue threats such as “you will see.” He stressed that such statements were inappropriate, especially in the context of an internal party election. “The NPP is a structured party with established grievance procedures,” he added. “If there are issues, they must be addressed through the proper channels, not public confrontations.”

Concluding his remarks, Yandoh reminded both Agyapong and other party members that the NPP is a prominent political force and that internal disputes should be handled with discipline and respect for the party's established processes. “This is not a small party,” he said. “We must uphold unity, follow the proper processes, and resolve conflicts internally.”
