A Nigerian woman has triggered widespread reactions on social media after lamenting what she described as a series of financial setbacks since moving into her current residence.
In a viral video shared on TikTok via her page, @excellency_sky, the woman claimed that her fortunes declined shortly after she rented the house. According to her, she initially paid ₦15 million to rent the property, but the rent was later increased to ₦20 million after she had already moved in.
She alleged that her financial situation has continued to deteriorate since then, using her vehicles as an example of her losses.
“When I moved into this compound, I came with 10 cars. Now I have only one left,” she said, expressing frustration. “I even have neighbours here who witnessed it.”
The woman went on to blame what she described as “bad belle” neighbours, insisting that the house itself lacks good fortune. According to her, anyone who moves into the property, regardless of how wealthy they are, eventually experiences losses.
“This house has no luck. Even if you come here with plenty money, you will leave with nothing,” she added.
Her claims have sparked mixed reactions online. While some viewers sympathised with her situation, others questioned the logic of attributing personal or financial challenges to a building or its occupants. Many argued that changes in circumstances are a natural part of life, rather than the result of bad luck tied to a house.
One social media user commented, “From 10 cars to one? That one really pain me for you.” Another wrote, “This is why I don’t like living in compounds with too many people.”
The video continues to trend, fueling debates about superstition, financial responsibility, and whether misfortune can truly be linked to a place or is simply the result of life’s unpredictable turns.
