Filmmaker Leila Djansi has taken to social media to criticize African men, highlighting what she perceives as their fragility and misogyny. In her provocative post, Djansi suggested that many African men who demand submission from Black women would behave very differently if they were paired with women from more socially empowered backgrounds.
She wrote, “All I want God to do is to pair these fragile, misogynistic African men with white women. Three months!!! Three months! They will be scrubbing the floors and bringing her breakfast in bed. She will tame him fast fast!”
Djansi argued that the power dynamics these men rely on would quickly crumble in situations where women have institutional support and societal backing. “Let me see you demand submission and nurturing from a blonde-haired white woman with the establishment behind her. Fast. Brutal. Humbling,” she added.
According to Djansi, these men selectively display dominance. “Because these men can only flex for Black women,” she said, suggesting that the cultural and systemic positioning of Black women makes them more vulnerable to controlling behavior from such men.
Her post has sparked conversation on social media, with many weighing in on the dynamics of power, gender, and race in relationships.
