Passengers Panic as Air Peace London–Abuja Flight Encounters Severe Turbulence

Passengers aboard an Air Peace flight travelling from London to Abuja were thrown into panic after the aircraft encountered intense turbulence mid-air, turning what was meant to be a routine journey into a frightening experience.

The incident was captured in a video shared on TikTok by a passenger identified as @scotchy, which has since gone viral. In the footage, passengers can be heard screaming and praying loudly as the aircraft shook violently, with several voices calling out phrases such as “Jesus!” and “The blood of Jesus!”

According to the TikTok user, many passengers genuinely believed the aircraft was going to crash during the turbulence. In her caption, she wrote: “The moment we all thought we were going to die on an Air Peace flight from London to Abuja.”

Speaking further about the ordeal, she added that the experience left her convinced she was about to “meet her maker” and that she feared she would never live to experience her first “Dirty December,” a popular festive period known for celebrations and travel.

The video has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users sharing their opinions and personal experiences with air turbulence. Some commenters pointed out that turbulence is a common occurrence during flights and not necessarily the fault of the airline.

One TikTok user, @Annchilondon, commented sarcastically: “Asking for a friend, is this everybody’s first time flying? Turbulence isn’t the fault of the airline.” Another user, @Cakesbytrish, noted that turbulence may seem trivial until one experiences it firsthand.

Sharing a similar experience, @helena156 wrote: “Turbulence and Air Peace are best friends, especially on the Abuja route. My experience was horrible—it felt like the wind almost blew the plane off.”

While no injuries or damages were reported, the incident highlights how severe turbulence can be deeply unsettling for passengers, even though it is a known and often unavoidable aspect of air travel.
