Bishop Owusu Ansah Criticizes Judge Over Daddy Lumba Widowhood Ruling

Adom FM’s resident pastor, Bishop Owusu Ansah, has sharply criticized Her Ladyship Dorinda Smith Arthur following a controversial Kumasi High Court ruling regarding the widowhood rites of the late musician Daddy Lumba.

In his remarks, Bishop Ansah condemned the court’s decision, stating, "You, the judge, wait. We will come to you with the word of God. I am taking my time. You want to tell us that there is no use in getting married lately? You want to say that adultery is not a sin? God will deal with you, and He won’t let you go free."

He continued, "God will never let you go free. He will deal with you as He did with Nebuchadnezzar. This will serve as a warning to others."

The pastor emphasized that the law of God cannot be bent to fit human desires. "You can’t change what the Bible has said. We will speak the word of God and share His mind. You may try to destroy the next generation, but we will never keep quiet."

The controversy stems from the November 28, 2025 ruling by Kumasi High Court, which allowed Daddy Lumba’s partner, Odo Broni, to partake in widowhood rites alongside his legal wife, Akosua Serwaa. The court’s decision came after Serwaa petitioned to be recognized as the sole surviving legal spouse of the late musician.

Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur, who presided over the case, granted both women the right to participate in the rites, a decision that has sparked significant criticism, particularly from supporters of Akosua Serwaa, Lumba’s first wife.
