Toyosi Etim Effiong, wife of Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong, has spoken out against receiving unsolicited marriage advice, emphasizing that every relationship has its own unique dynamics that outsiders can’t fully grasp.
In a recent interview on the *Toke Moments* podcast, Toyosi expressed, “Please don’t give marriage advice unless it’s asked for. I understand the intricacies of my own marriage better than anyone else.”
Toyosi also shared her thoughts on why many women endure unhealthy relationships. According to her, a lack of self-awareness often keeps people trapped in toxic situations. “A lot of women stay in relationships because they have no sense of who they are. There’s no self-identity,” she stated.
When questioned about whether infidelity would be a deal-breaker in her marriage, Toyosi refused to make blanket statements. She emphasized that honesty is key, regardless of public opinion. “It’s okay to be honest if infidelity isn’t a deal-breaker for you,” she explained.
She also addressed how long-lasting marriages are often perceived by the public. “From the outside, it may look perfect, but will anyone tell you what they’ve really had to deal with?” she said, pointing out that appearances can be deceiving.
