Yul Edochie Urges President Tinubu to Take Decisive Action Against Rising Insecurity

Veteran actor Yul Edochie has called on President Bola Tinubu to take stronger and more immediate action to address the escalating cases of kidnapping and killings occurring across Nigeria.

Expressing deep concern over the deteriorating security situation, Edochie described the ongoing incidents as “unbearable” and insisted that urgent intervention is required.

Edochie’s Appeal for Firm Action

In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Edochie stated that the current state of insecurity is “a slap on the President’s face,” emphasizing that the administration has the capacity and resources to bring an end to the menace.

He wrote:
“Dear President Tinubu, you have the capacity to crush these bandits and kidnappers who are killing Nigerians daily and even posting it on social media. It’s a slap on your face, Mr. President. Nigerians are now afraid to travel, afraid to move around. Every day, innocent lives are being wasted. If you need foreign assistance, seek it. Go hard on these criminals and crush them.”

Mixed Reactions From the Public

Edochie’s statement generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing their thoughts on the matter.

While some praised him for speaking out, others critiqued his tone or questioned his expectations of the government. Several commenters expressed frustration with the overall security situation, while a few made unverified and strongly worded allegations about political leaders—highlighting public tension around the issue.

One user, Samuel Ozonna, commented:
“Yul, the only way to gain Tinubu’s attention is to curse him, then go back and make peace.”

Another commenter, Orabtorblack, wrote:
“I thought you believed Jagaban would fix the country? Relax, he will fix everything.”

2TwentyTwo added:
“Slow your horses, Yul. Tinubu is cooking up another ambassadorial list—your name might be on it.”

Despite the varying opinions, many users agreed that insecurity remains one of the most pressing challenges currently confronting the nation.
