Ghanaian televangelist and founder of the International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has issued a strong warning to critics who have taken to social media to ridicule his wife, gospel musician Florence Obinim, and speculate about the state of their marriage.
The outspoken preacher addressed the issue in a TikTok video shared on September 29, 2025, following intense online reactions to Florence Obinim’s recent appearance at the funeral of late highlife musician Dada KD. Photos and videos from the event quickly went viral, with some social media users claiming her appearance suggested marital stress.
The situation escalated when a popular self-styled seer, Karma President, publicly prophesied that the Obinims’ marriage was nearing collapse. These claims triggered widespread debate and commentary online.
Responding to the controversy, Bishop Obinim described the attacks on his wife as unfair and irresponsible. He stressed that while he was not bothered by people criticising his own life or even making remarks about his wife’s appearance, he would not tolerate continued speculation or falsehoods about their marriage.
“Leave our marriage out of this,” he stated firmly. “We have been married for 21 years, almost 22, and we have three children. We have all the happiness we need.”
According to the preacher, his marriage to Florence Obinim remains solid despite rumours suggesting otherwise. He acknowledged that his past controversies had brought embarrassment to his family but insisted that those challenges had been addressed and overcome.
Bishop Obinim openly admitted to infidelity in the past, noting that it occurred before 2017. However, he emphasised that he has since changed his ways and recommitted himself to his marriage.
“From 2017 until now, I have never cheated on my wife. I don’t have a girlfriend,” he said. “My church members know I fell from grace, but I have been restored.”
He concluded by expressing deep affection for his wife, describing her as precious and focused on living a quiet, respectful life.
Social media reactions to Bishop Obinim’s remarks were mixed but largely supportive. While some praised him for standing up for his wife and family, others urged the public to stop celebrating the perceived downfall of public figures.
The renewed public appearance of Florence Obinim alongside her husband at his recent birthday celebration, where she attended with their three children, further appeared to dispel rumours of marital discord. A viral video from the occasion showed Bishop Obinim joyfully welcoming his family at the airport, reinforcing his claims that their bond remains intact.
Despite ongoing scrutiny, Bishop Obinim has made it clear that his marriage is not open for public judgment—and that further attacks on his family will not be taken lightly.
