Portable Reacts angrily as Ashabi Simple Takes Legal Action Against Him

The ongoing dispute between controversial Nigerian singer Portable and his former partner, Ashabi Simple, has intensified, showing no signs of resolution.

In a series of emotional posts shared on his Instagram story, the street-hop artiste openly criticized the upcoming Yoruba actress for allegedly taking him to court. Portable said the legal action came as a shock and left him deeply upset.

The singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, stated that he was never legally married to Ashabi Simple and questioned her decision to involve the courts over what he described as a personal disagreement. He also declared that any emotional attachment he once had toward her was completely over.

“I am no longer interested in you and I can never love you again,” Portable said. “I did not marry you legally, so I don’t understand why you are taking me to court because we had a fight. The only thing I owe you is food money for the children.”

Portable emphasized that his only responsibility, in his view, is to provide financial support for their two children. He added that he considers the relationship permanently ended and suggested that Ashabi would have to explain her actions to their children in the future.

The singer went on to make further allegations against Ashabi, accusing her of deliberately trying to disrupt his home and criticizing her for becoming pregnant by a married man. He also recalled an incident during their daughter’s naming ceremony, claiming she attempted to pressure him into marriage.

“I have never seen a woman try to force a man into marriage,” he said, alleging that he left the mosque when the event nearly turned into a marriage ceremony.

This latest outburst follows a recent exchange on social media between the two, during which Ashabi Simple accused Portable of attempting to harm her—an allegation that further escalated tensions between the former partners.
