President John Dramani Mahama has called on the people of Bawku in the Upper East Region to embrace peace during the ongoing Eid-ul-Fitr festivities. Speaking at the Eid celebration organized by the National Chief Imam at Black Star Square in Accra, the president emphasized the importance of the Ramadan season, which symbolizes forgiveness, unity, and harmony.
In his remarks, President Mahama addressed the ongoing conflict in Bawku, urging all parties involved to put aside their differences and work towards lasting peace. He stressed that continued unrest would not only hinder development but also harm the livelihoods of innocent citizens.
"As we celebrate this blessed Ramadan, I urge my brothers and sisters in Bawku to embrace peace," he said. "Ramadan is a time for unity and reflection. Let us use this sacred occasion to cultivate values of love, forgiveness, and harmony. By working together, we can build a stronger, more unified community."
