Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has made her first public statement following her urgent medical treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang fell ill after fulfilling her duties on Friday, March 28, and was swiftly admitted to UGMC on Saturday, March 29, for immediate care.

An official statement from the Presidency confirmed that she received prompt and effective medical attention at UGMC. While the specifics of her illness were not disclosed, the statement reassured the public of her stable condition, noting that she may require further medical treatment abroad as a precautionary measure.

Her hospitalization sparked widespread concern, with an outpouring of support from citizens across the nation. Many Ghanaians, including political leaders, religious figures, and ordinary citizens, expressed their well-wishes and offered prayers for her swift recovery.

Amid this wave of goodwill, the Vice President shared a brief yet heartfelt message for Eid Mubarak, expressing her gratitude to the Muslim community.

"I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone for their kind words and well-wishes this weekend," she said, acknowledging the overwhelming support and prayers she has received during this challenging time.
