Ghana’s entertainment landscape was taken by surprise when Shatta Wale’s management announced his withdrawal from the highly anticipated Nima Salahfest, which was set to take place on Monday, March 31.
The decision, revealed in a statement on March 30, was attributed to a disagreement between the event’s traditional organizers, VIP, and the new coordinators, Broadway Entertainment. According to the statement, this misunderstanding prompted Shatta Wale to step away from the event in order to maintain peace and unity within the industry.
The statement read, “This decision follows a misunderstanding between the usual organizers of the event (VIP) and the new organizers, Broadway Entertainment. As a brand that champions unity and peace within the entertainment sector, Shatta Wale has decided to withdraw from the event to foster harmony and cooperation among all parties involved. We are hopeful that the matter will be resolved in the near future.”
Nima Sallahfest, a well-established event in Accra’s entertainment scene, has traditionally attracted thousands of music fans and industry figures during the Eid celebrations, with Shatta Wale’s anticipated participation being a major highlight this year.
Shatta Wale’s management emphasized that the choice to step back from the event was not made lightly. They stressed the importance of unity and peace within the entertainment community, highlighting that their decision aimed to avoid potential conflicts and promote collaboration among all stakeholders.
The statement concluded by expressing optimism for a resolution between VIP and Broadway Entertainment and reaffirming Shatta Wale’s commitment to his fans and the growth of Ghana’s entertainment industry. “We at Shatta Movement Empire remain dedicated to our fans and the continued development of the industry. We believe in resolving conflicts peacefully and look forward to delivering even bigger and better performances in the future.”
