Abronye Responds to Joyce Bawa Mogtari's Compensation Demand, Accuses Government of Cocaine Involvement

Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC and the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has vehemently responded to Joyce Bawa Mogtari’s request for a retraction, apology, and compensation following claims that she receives Ghc 95,000 as remuneration as a special aide to the president.

In his response, Abronye suggested that Joyce Bawa should have demanded a larger compensation of Ghc 100 million rather than the Ghc 10 million she is currently seeking. He controversially proposed that he would settle her compensation using proceeds from the illegal cocaine trade in Ghana, which he alleges is being facilitated under the government's watch, of which she is a part.

"Joyce Bawa might address her grievances on social media, but I doubt we would reach any resolution if we meet face to face," Abronye remarked. "She is asking for Ghc 10 million, but I believe she should have demanded a higher sum—perhaps Ghc 100 million. If she wants her compensation, I will use a portion of the cocaine trade proceeds to pay her."

Abronye further accused the presidential aide of questionable spending, asserting that in just three months, Joyce Bawa has reportedly purchased bags valued at no less than $2,000 each. He emphasized that she should be held accountable for her purchases, promising to demand receipts in court if necessary.

These strong remarks were made on Movement Television, where Abronye continued to challenge Joyce Bawa's claims and questioned the legitimacy of her high salary for the role she occupies in the president's office.

Ken Ofori-Atta Files Legal Action Against Special Prosecutor Over 'Wanted Person' Label

Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking an injunction to prevent the agency from continuing to label him as a “wanted person” or “fugitive from justice.” This legal move comes after Ofori-Atta's image and personal details were publicly displayed on the OSP's official social media pages, despite earlier assurances made in a letter dated February 18, 2025. In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity. Additionally, Ofori-Atta seeks an interlocutory injunction to stop the OSP from issuing any further press releases or public statements that ...
