The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the release of provisional results for candidates who participated in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for private candidates. This was confirmed in a statement issued by John K. K. Habeb, the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC.
According to the statement, the results are now available on the Council’s official website, and candidates are encouraged to access their results online.
In total, 1,661 candidates registered for the examination, including 858 males and 803 females. The exams were conducted across 15 centers nationwide, with 31 candidates absent. WAEC also noted that results for three candidates have been withheld due to alleged involvement in examination malpractice, pending further investigations.
WAEC urged candidates with withheld or canceled results to visit the website and check the relevant portal for more information on the next steps. Furthermore, the Council warned against engaging with fraudsters who promise to "upgrade" results for a fee, stressing that WAEC results are secure and verifiable.
The Council took the opportunity to express its gratitude to various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, security agencies, supervisors, and invigilators, for their continued support in ensuring the smooth conduct of the exams and the timely release of results.
