The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepened on Tuesday as the faction loyal to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, confirmed the expulsion of several senior party figures.
The party's factional National Executive Committee (NEC) announced the decision, attributing it to escalating tensions following Saturday’s controversial national convention in Ibadan.
**Governors and Prominent Party Leaders Expelled**
In a meeting held in Abuja, the Wike-backed NEC ratified the expulsion of prominent members, including Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State.
Also expelled were former Board of Trustees Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, former National Vice Chairman Bode George, and the newly elected National Chairman Kabiru Turaki, SAN.
This latest move follows the expulsion of Wike and his allies by a rival faction during the Ibadan convention just days earlier, further intensifying the ongoing power struggle within the party.
