Two Firefighters Injured in Adjiringano Building Fire

 

Two firefighters were injured while responding to a late-night building fire in Adjiringano, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

The incident occurred on Friday, November 14, when a two-storey, eight-room building near Ability Square caught fire. The GNFS received the emergency call at 9:32 p.m., and the first fire crew from the Legon Fire Station arrived shortly after 10 p.m.

Additional support teams from Madina, the National Headquarters, Adenta, and a private water tanker joined the operation, ensuring a steady water supply. Firefighters brought the blaze under control after midnight and fully extinguished it by 1:08 a.m.

Seven rooms on the top floor were destroyed. However, firefighters managed to save one room and prevented the fire from spreading to the ground floor and nearby structures.

Two firefighters sustained injuries during the operation—one with a stab wound and the other with a shoulder injury. Both received medical attention and have since been discharged.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
