Drake Loses ₦296 Million Betting on Jake Paul After Anthony Joshua Victory

Canadian rapper Drake reportedly lost ₦296 million after betting on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul to beat former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in Miami.

Anthony Joshua Clinches the Win

In the early hours of December 21, Anthony Joshua dominated the ring, knocking out Jake Paul in the sixth round. Joshua’s experience shone through, as he floored Paul twice in the fifth before delivering a decisive finishing combo in the sixth round, leaving Paul unable to continue.

Drake’s High-Stakes Bet

Before the fight, Drake publicly shared his $200,000 (₦296 million) bet on Jake Paul on Instagram, captioning it: “Jakeyyyyy boy, lock tf in.”

If Paul had won, Drake would have pocketed over $1.6 million (more than ₦2 billion).

Previous Betting Losses

This isn’t Drake’s first major betting setback. Earlier, he reportedly lost ₦451 million at the US Open after backing Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner.
