Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP), has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to capitalize on favorable conditions during their time in power.
In a Facebook post addressing the current state of Ghana's economy, particularly the rising gold prices, Nkansah argued that the NDC has often been favored by positive global economic trends when they are in power, but they still fail to deliver results for the country. He pointed out that the NDC has typically avoided major global crises, instead benefiting from periods of growth in the global economy.
However, Nkansah emphasized that despite these advantages, the NDC's leadership has been marked by incompetence, leaving Ghana in a state of economic hardship. He referenced past years, particularly 2000 and 2016, when the country suffered significant economic challenges under their leadership.
In his post, he wrote: "The NDC always gets more favor and no global crisis when they come into power, but they still end their tenures with gross incompetence, as we saw in 2000 and 2016, with serious economic hardships. Oil prices are at a record low now, gold prices are at a record high. Let’s see how they will end it this time."
Nkansah's comments have sparked discussions about the NDC's performance and the challenges facing Ghana's economy in the coming years.
