NSS to Close Registration System on Friday Amid Ongoing Delays

The National Service Scheme (NSS) has announced that its registration system will close this Friday, with half of the personnel for the year still not accounted for, according to the Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations, Fuseini Donkor.

Speaking on *The AM Show* on Joy FM, Donkor expressed his frustration over the ongoing delays and stressed that the registration system will not remain open beyond the deadline. “By Friday, we are closing the system,” he said, warning that those who fail to register will lose their opportunity to do so.

Despite the system’s ability to handle large volumes of data, Donkor revealed that many personnel have failed to report. “Today is Wednesday, and 50% of them have not reported. Our system can handle even a million entries, but they must show up and complete their registration,” he emphasized.

Donkor further accused some personnel of intentionally delaying their registration in an effort to later influence their postings through unofficial means. “The frustration they are causing the system is becoming too much. Most of the regional offices are just sitting idle because someone thinks, ‘I’ll bring money, I’ll change it for you,’” he said, urging those involved to complete their registration by the Friday deadline.

He condemned the growing trend of attempts to bypass the official deployment process, noting that this has left many regional NSS offices inactive as personnel rely on backdoor arrangements rather than following the proper channels.

The NSS has called on all deployed personnel to immediately report and complete their registration before the system is locked on Friday.
