Police Arrest 54 Suspects in Bono Region During Anti-Crime Operations



The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested 54 individuals in separate swoop operations targeting drug trafficking, drug abuse, and criminal hideouts across various areas in the region.


In a statement issued on December 22, 2025, the Police explained that these arrests were part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities and enhance community safety. “This operation is part of our continued efforts to rid our communities of drug peddlers, users, and other criminals,” the statement read.


The intelligence-driven operations were carried out in multiple locations, including Abesim, Banda, Nkrankwanta, Odumase, Dumasua, Wenchi, and Dormaa. The suspects arrested are believed to have been involved in various criminal activities.


During the operations, the police confiscated several items, including "quantities of tramadol, suspected Indian hemp, scissors, a green tricycle, a small crusher, matches, and cigarettes," all of which have been retained for evidentiary purposes.


The suspects have been brought before the courts and remanded in police custody for further investigation. The police also reassured the public of their commitment to ensuring safety, particularly during the festive season. They warned that individuals involved in criminal activities would face the full consequences of the law.


The Bono Regional Police Command remains determined to continue its crackdown on crime to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
