Lawyer Kusi Boateng Accuses Judge Dorinda Smith Arthur of Bias

Lawyer Kusi Boateng, counsel for Akosua Serwaa—the wife of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba—has broken his silence following his client’s recent return to Ghana.

In an exclusive interview, Lawyer Kusi alleged that the presiding judge, Dorinda Smith Arthur, demonstrated clear bias in her handling of the case. According to him, the judge appeared to favor one party over the other, a development he described as deeply troubling.

He stated that all parties involved, including Abusuapanin Tupac and representatives of Odo Bronii, were fully aware that the documents he submitted to the court were authentic. Despite this, the judge reportedly described the documents as forged—an assertion Lawyer Kusi says he finds difficult to comprehend.

Lawyer Kusi emphasized that the judge’s comments went beyond judicial disagreement and amounted to a direct attack on his professional credibility. He maintained that the allegation not only disadvantaged his client but also tarnished his personal integrity as a legal practitioner.

Speaking to the media, he said: “What the judge did was a deliberate attempt. She had a biased mindset. Claiming that I forged documents was an insult to my integrity, especially when the opposing side knew very well that the documents were genuine.”

Lawyer Kusi’s remarks have since sparked public discussion about judicial impartiality and professional ethics within Ghana’s legal system.
