Apostle Lilian Owusu, the widow of the late Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, the former Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Ejisu, has publicly addressed her decision to remarry. She described it as a choice motivated by faith, love, and a strong belief in moving forward in life.
During a heartfelt thanksgiving service at her church on Sunday, Apostle Owusu shared that her decision to remarry was a deliberate step rooted in a positive outlook on life and God's guidance.
“I believe in the saying, 'Forward ever, backward never.' By the grace of God, I prayed and made up my mind to move forward," she said. "I won’t let pain hold me back. I still have a lot to do, and I have chosen to look at the positive side of things, as that’s the culture of my family. No matter what happens, we push forward, and I prayed for God to bring the right man into my life.”
Apostle Owusu also spoke about how she met her new husband, emphasizing that their union was based on mutual love and divine timing.
“It was love at first sight,” she recalled. “They came for a business partnership, and as soon as he saw me, he pursued me. Luckily, it was at the right time, and we had been praying together for God’s guidance.”
She made it clear that her remarriage is not about replacing her late husband, but rather a new chapter in her life, guided by God's will.
“My new husband is not a replacement,” she affirmed. “We have not replaced anyone, but we trust in God's plan. He has sent us a calm, wonderful man who has answered our prayers.”
Apostle Owusu concluded by sharing that her decision to remarry was not influenced by societal expectations but was a choice made with confidence and the support of her faith.
