Ghanaian actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown has appealed to the public to continue showing respect and support for her former husband, Maxwell Mensah, following the confirmation of their divorce.
The award-winning actress made the emotional appeal during an appearance on Showbiz 360, where she addressed public reactions to her separation and expressed concern about how her ex-husband is treated in public spaces.
McBrown explained that although their marriage has ended, she and Maxwell Mensah maintain a cordial relationship and remain close because of the child they share. She stressed that the end of their romantic relationship does not make them enemies and urged Ghanaians to extend the same love and goodwill to Mensah that they have consistently shown her.
“I am begging all of you to respect him,” McBrown said. “He is someone I appreciate and respect. We still communicate, and we cannot be enemies because we have a child together. Please continue to love and support him the same way you support me.”
The actress also condemned instances where people allegedly ridicule or disrespect her former husband in public, reminding Ghanaians that he is now a free man entitled to live his life without harassment.
