Chelsea Confirmed Line-Up for Crucial Premier League Clash at Aston Villa

Chelsea FC head coach Liam Rosenior has made four changes to his starting XI for tonight’s pivotal Premier League encounter against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

With kick-off scheduled for 7:30pm, the fixture presents Chelsea with an immediate opportunity to respond to last weekend’s defeat to Arsenal and reduce the six-point gap to their fellow top-four contenders in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification.

The most notable alteration comes in goal, where Filip Jorgensen is handed a start in place of Robert Sanchez, who drops to the bench. It marks Jorgensen’s first appearance since the Champions League meeting with Pafos in January. The defensive unit also sees adjustment, as Wesley Fofana returns to the starting line-up. He is joined by Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, and Jorrel Hato in a reshaped back four.

Captain Reece James is expected to operate in midfield alongside Moises Caicedo, providing leadership and physical presence in the centre of the pitch. Enzo Fernandez continues in an advanced midfield role, while Andrey Santos is named among the substitutes.

In attack, Alejandro Garnacho comes into the side to replace Pedro Neto, who serves a one-match suspension. Cole Palmer retains his position on the opposite flank, with Joao Pedro leading the line. Marc Cucurella, having missed the previous four matches through injury, returns to the matchday squad as a substitute.

Aston Villa make three changes following their 2–0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Defensive reinforcements Tyrone Mings and Ian Maatsen are introduced, while Leon Bailey strengthens the attacking options. Former Chelsea players Ross Barkley and Tammy Abraham are named on the Villa bench.
